You will be collected from your hotel between 2:30 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. by your tour guide. You will depart from Arequipa in our confortable transportation. We will arrive to the village of Chivay around 6 a.m. , the Capital of the Colca Valley. Then we will enjoy a delicious breakfast in Yanque Village, and then we will continue our drive to the highest part of the Canyon, known as the Cross of Condor. This is where the andean condor, the world’s largest flying bird, offers a truly breathtaking show for all visitors. It is important to be as early as possible in order not to miss the spectacular nature show.
You will remain here for one hour and then you will have the option to join your tour guide for a short hike along the edge of the canyon.
This enjoyable trek is for everyone and will offer you spectacular dropping views of the canyon walls. Your transport will wait for you at the end of the hike and take you back to Chivay making some stops in diferents viewpoints of the Colca Canyon where you can see outstanding pre-Inca terraces along the valley. You will arrive to Yanque, where you can enjoy an hour of relaxation at the hot spring, and then we will be returning to Chivay to enjoy a delicious Buffet Lunch. On our drive back to Arequipa, we will stop at Pata Pampa* (Pata=high, Pampa=land), located at 4,910 meters above sea level, a great viewpoint of Peru’s astonishing mountain rage as well as giant volcanoes such as Ampato, Sabancaya, Mismi (the source of the Amazon river). We will also make picture stops at the National Reserve of “Pampa Cañahuas” located at 3,400 meters above sea level, where you can observe the wild vicuñas in their natural habitat, this is a great chance for a once in a lifetime holiday photo. Our estimated time of arrival in Arequipa will be 5:00 pm.
