Colca Canyon.- Did you know, that one of the deepest canyons of the world is located in Peru? We give you the opportunity to know it. Travel with us to the Colca Canyon in Arequipa, which is twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the USA. Besides, you can observe the flight of the andean condors and know the local culture.
Day 1: Arequipa – Patapampa – Chivay – Hot Sprint
Pick 8:00 a.m. from the hostel and then we are heading towards the National Reserve of Aguada Blanca and Salinas place where we see the family of camelids: llamas, alpacas, vicunas, birds such as flamingos.
Continuing the trip, we stop at a restaurant (4,000 meters above sea level)) to try the coca tea, chachacoma and muña, medicinal plants.
The next place to visit is the viewpoint of the volcano which is (4,901.meters above sea level) the highest place where you will have a panoramic view of the volcanoes of Arequipa: Chachani, Misti, Ampato (place where was found the frozen body of Juanita mummy, sacrificed on the mountain) and finally descend to Chivay to have a delicious lunch buffet and after setting into our accommodation we have a relaxing afternoon in the thermo-medicinal waters “Calera” good for muscles, some diseases and relax. In the evening dinner with folkloric show.
Peru Trek – Colca Canyon
Day 2: Chivay – Cruz del Cóndor – Arequipa
7:00 a.m. Departure after breakfast in the direction of Cruz del Cóndor, unique and fantastic place. For two hours we will see the majestic flight of the condors, in the route we will make some visits to Yanque, Maca and Colca, traditional colonial towns as well as viewpoints of interest, where we can see the beautiful and incredible terraces and / or pre-Inca and Inca that Collaguas and Cabanas (local culture) built terraces. Finally, after the last lunch in the afternoon we return to the city of Arequipa.
