Chachani is considered one of the easiest mountains of 6,000 meters in the world to be climbed, but sometimes because of factors of climate is not so easy to reach the top. Chachani volcano is famous in Arequipa and it is considered one of the protectors of the city. “Sillar”, white stone extracted from the volcano, was used for construction of churches and colonial houses. It is one of the reasons because Arequipa is called the “white city” too. Climbing the volcano is like a mountain hike. It is not difficult or technical complicated, but it is important to have good training and acclimatization before boarding.
